Palakarai also called as Chozhi is a natural mineral used in Siddha and Ayurveda Medicine System. It is actually the shells of an animal living in Sea. It should be purified as per the methods mentioned in Siddha and Ayurveda Texts before using it for making medicines.

It is also called as Chovi, Choki in Tamil, Cowry in English.
